To comply with strict A2P 10DLC campaign registration requirements, this informal page explains, in simple terms, what the SMS messaging opt-in mechanism is and how it works.
Our goal is to be fully transparent to all users.

SMS text opt-in mechanism, how it works:

Registering an account within the Open Road App on Android or iOS application is the only way you can opt in to receive SMS text messages. Without that enrollment and consent, you will not be eligible to receive our SMS text messages.

How to enroll & opt-in:

  1. Install the Open Road App from the Google Play Store link or iOS App Store link
  2. After passing the greeting screens, click on Sign Up at the top as seen in this screenshot:
A screenshot of the Open Road App with a large arrow pointing to the sign up button. Text: Tap Sign Up
  3. Enter your name, email and phone information.
  4. Next you will be required to check the acceptance box confirming your consent to receive SMS messages. This is the call-to-action, as seen in this screenshot here:

  5. Next you are required to send a one-time password message (OTP) to verify that the phone number entered is accurate. This is the immediate SMS verification step and is required by A2P 10DLC. Seen in the below screenshots:
A screenshot of the Open Road App clearly pointing out the elements that belong to the SMS Messaging call-to-action. A screenshot of the Open Road App with an arrow pointing to a verify OTP element. Text: Tap verify OTP.
  6. Finally, accept the terms and conditions for use then tap Sign Up to submit registration.

This completes your enrollment & opt-in process.

Here is a screenshot of the Terms and Conditions page as seen from within the app.
Note when viewed within the app this screen is zoomable and scrollable for easier reading:

Account Deletion

When an account is deleted, the associated data, including phone number, is removed. This action is irreversible. Users can delete their account directly through the app. See this link for instructions and an alternative method (manual request via email). Terminated accounts will no longer receive SMS messages.
